How are my payment details protected?

You are shopping in a secure environment at State of Art Webshop: your details are encrypted and sent via a special connection to your credit card provider or bank, who will then approve your payment if appropriate.

Secure Socket Layer (SSL)

You can pay securely using your credit card. We will ensure the safety of your data using Secure Socket Layers (SSL), an advanced internet data security system. All data, including name, address and credit card details are stored in encrypted form on a Secure Server, in order to guarantee the security of the ordering process. This means that all credit card and address information is securely held in the State of Art Webshop ordering system. Most browsers support SSL. If you are not sure if your browser supports SSL, check the browser details with your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

How does iDEAL work?

(Only within the Netherlands)
If you bank online with Rabobank, ABN AMRO, Fortis, SNS bank or ING you can arrange payment for your order using a secure electronic system. Electronic payment via the Internet is comparable with a PIN payment in a shop. Once you have placed your order, select iDEAL as the payment method. A screen will open where you can select your online bank. Then simply use your usual procedure for internet banking payments. The payment will generally be processed on the same working day.

Which currencies are accepted in payment?

We only accept payment in Euros. If you pay using a credit card, any foreign currency used will automatically be converted to Euros.

Pay with Riverty – Digital Invoice (The Netherlands)

Riverty manages the entire post-payment process for www.stateofart.com. This means you receive a digital invoice from Riverty via email for payment of the product(s) purchased. If you are paying via Riverty for the first time, the amount of the digital invoice can be a maximum of € 500 at www.stateofart.com. If you are already known to Riverty, you can pay a sum of up to € 500. Riverty carries out a data check for approving your request to pay via digital invoice. Riverty applies a strict privacy policy as described in its privacy statement. In the unlikely event your application to pay via digital invoice is not authorised, you can naturally pay for the product using another payment method. Pay with Riverty – Digital Invoice (Belgium)

How does advance payment by bank transfer work?

Shopping on our site at www.shop.stateofart.com and don’t have your bank or credit card information handy? Or do you prefer to pay at a later time? Then you can also select advance payment by bank transfer.

After you choose this option, you will receive an e-mail message containing all of the information that you need in order to make payment. You transfer the payment to our payment partner “Pay”. We then receive an automatic message when your payment is received by Pay. As soon as we receive this notification, we will send your order. You have 10 days to make payment. If you do not make payment within 10 days, we will automatically cancel your order.

This option is for now only available in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. We will activate this for other countries soon

What is PayPal?

PayPal is an online payment system that enables you to make online payments faster, easier and above all more securely. With just two clicks of the mouse, you can make payments or receive money – this makes shopping at www.shop.stateofart.com even more enjoyable!

Paying with PayPal

Via our website you can place orders and immediately make payment using PayPal. All you need is your own PayPal account (your personal access to the PayPal payment system). If you do not yet have a PayPal account, you can register free of charge at www.PayPal.nl. After you complete this registration, during your next visit, you will be able to complete your order and make payment within 60 seconds.

Is PayPal secure?

Absolutely, PayPal uses SSL technology to send your information securely in encrypted format over the Internet. We do not see any of your sensitive financial information, such as your credit card of bank account number. Only PayPal and the credit card company see and retain this sensitive information behind heavily secured doors. PayPal will not make any of your information available to third parties.

How does Giropay work?

Giropay can only be used by German customers who have access to Giropay.

With Giropay, payment is made via your own bank account. In the payment options in the webshop, you choose payment via Giropay and select the bank with which you have your current account, based on the Bankleitzahl. You are then automatically connected to your bank’s logon page, where you can log on using your account number and PIN code. Once you have completed the online bank transfer form, you can no longer change this information. On the logoff page, the information on the payment is once again displayed and you return to shop.stateofart.com. If you place your order on weekdays before 3.00 p.m., we will dispatch your order that same day.

How does MasterCard SecureCode work?

MasterCard SecureCode is a private code for your MasterCard account that you can use when you are shopping online. Only you and your financial institution know what your code is – retailers are not able to see it. So you can trust that your transactions get independent approval every time.

SecureCode works with your existing MasterCard account, requires no download, and it is easy to activate and to use.

How do I activate my MasterCard SecureCode?

Step 1 - Visit your Card Issuer's Website and create your private code - known only to you and your Issuer - and use it every time you shop online at a participating merchant.

Step 2 - To enroll, you will be asked to confirm your identity by providing answers to your Issuer's security questions.

Step 3 - You will be asked to create your secure code.

Step 4 - In just a few simple steps your enrollment is complete and you are ready to begin shopping online with your new SecureCode.

How does Maestro work?

In Belgium, you can use your Maestro card to shop online. The only thing you need is your unique SecureCode™, which enables you to pay online as safely as with your PIN in a shop.

How do I start?
If your card has been issued by one of the participating banks*, contact your bank to confirm that you can pay online with your Maestro card. As soon as your card is activated, your bank will send you an authentication device, if you have not already received it. This might be a Personal Card Reader or Digipass and you will need it every time you make a purchase online. With these simple devices to hand –your card and your authentication device – you are ready to shop online!

What is SecureCode™ and how does it work?

SecureCode™ is the Maestro authentication system which enables you to shop online safely and securely. Online shopping with Maestro is consequently just as safe as in the shop itself.

Depending on which bank you are with, you will have received a Personal Card Reader or Digipass. You will need this every time you want to buy something online. Your Personal Card Reader or Digipass generates a unique code for the transaction you make in order to check your identity, grant permission for the payment and help protect you against fraud.

* In Belgium, the following banks currently offer online shopping with Maestro: Argenta, BNP Paribas Fortis, CBC, Centea, Dexia, Fintro, ING and KBC. At the moment, you can only use Maestro for online shopping if your card has been issued by one of these banks. It is possible that more banks will offer the option to shop online with Maestro in the near future.

How does Credit card work?

You can pay online with your credit card. Fill in the credit card number, the exact name on the card, the expiration date and the 3-digit CVC code (last three digits on the back of your card) on the payment page. Paying with your credit card in our Webshop is fast, safe and simple.

How does SOFORT Banking work?

Learn how quickly and easily you can pay using SOFORT Banking. Discover how the TÜV-certified payment method offers maximum security, as security is a top priority for Internet payments.

And this is how it works:
• Check your order details and initiate an online credit transfer via SOFORT Banking.
• Simply log on with your usual online banking details.
Your personal login details will not be saved!
• After entering your login details, we check if you have sufficient funds in your account to meet the payment (account credit check)
and if any SOFORT Banking transactions have been carried out successfully during the previous 30 days.
• Confirm the payment on the next page by entering a valid confirmation code.
• State of Art will be notified and can process your order immediately.
• Here you can see a summary of the transaction that has taken place.

How does Mister Cash work?

With Mister Cash Belgian account holders can make purchases online through their debit card.
The safety and reliability are absolutely guaranteed.

Belgian customers who banking with the banks: Dexia, Fortis, ING, FINTRO, KBC, CBC, AXA bank and VDK savings bank can accomplish by Mister Cash easy online payments.

Explanation of Mister Cash
With Mister Cash it is possible to checkout your purchase familiar, secure and easy.
Your transaction will take place in a trusted and secured internet payment environment, based on specific security methods from your own bank. As an Internet banking client you can directly use Mister Cash, without the need to login or need to install special software.

How does it work?

Mister Cash payments are similar to credit card payments, it's also based on the number and the expiration date of the card but on the same time they also use the safety system of Internet banking.
The first step works like a credit card: card number data and typing (that number is on the latest generation of cards).
At the second step the card holder has to identify himself in a secured screen of his own bank, just like Internet banking.

How does Klarna work?
