State of Art opens store in Zwolle

01 November 2014

The State of Art Store in Zwolle opened its doors for the first time on Saturday 1 November. The store is located in the very heart of Zwolle's shopping centre, in a beautiful historic building located at the Luttekestraat 46, previously a specialist equestrian and shooting sports store for many years.

H.J. Bremer's equestrian shop was one of the oldest in the business in the Netherlands. Bremer supplied everything for hunting and equestrian needs for both rider and horse. The selection included hunting weapons, ammunition, air rifles, clothing for men and women, as well as country clothing and accessories. In 1990 the store was awarded the honour of being appointed a Purveyor to her Majesty the Queen.

A nostalgic space still exists in the cellars, where in days gone by guns and other weapons were repaired. and weapons could be tested in a real shooting range.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances, the Bremer family decided to close the store after 141 years of trading in July 2006. Zwolle lamented the loss of a company recognised both regionally and nationally. Many of Zwolle's inhabitants have fond memories of pressing their noses against the shop window as children, fascinated by the exciting articles on display.

By relocating to this beautiful and nostalgic building, State of Art intends to keep alive part of the town's unique history, whilst contributing a fantastic 'Menswear store' to Zwolle's lively heart.

Our newest store is the place to go for the latest collections, available in all sizes from S through to and including 4XL. Of course our enthusiastic and professional team will be ready to provide you with honest and clear advice.
