Porsche 356 A Convertible D was only produced in 1959. To distinguish it from its illustrious predecessor, the Speedster, the Convertible D had larger windows, both at the front and rear and at the sides. It does have the chrome side strips in common with the Speedster, though. Only after this model had been taken into production, Porsche thought it might be better to use another name than Speedster. This is why only the first 14 cars had the indication ‘Speedster D’ on the front wing. The other 1,316 have no indication but entered history as the Convertible D.
