![]() When he was 16 years old, Jan was the wunderkind of racing, and was nicknamed ‘Jantje’ ('little Jan'). Since then he's grown up into the greatest racing icon the Netherlands has ever produced: Formula 3 winner; one of the youngest debutant drivers in Formula 1; and 1988 winner of the Le Mans 24-hour Race in a Silcut Jaguar (which earned him an invitation to meet the Queen of England). Jan formed his own sportscar team, called Racing for Holland, which brought him world titles in 2002 and 2003. Since 2005 he has been head of the A1 GP team. Jan is more active than ever. This year he has no less than 40 international and national championships planned, including Le Mans, The 24 Hours of Spa, Sebring, and of course the spectacular Carrera Panamericana. Jan Lammers will be hitting the racetracks of La Carrera Panamericana. |
